This is the first of many folk recordings that Argo made specifically for children. Folk song collector and singer Pat Shuldham-Shaw, who figures prominently here, went on to participate in the 4-LP set of poems and songs for children, Rhyme and Rhythm, released in 1965 (under the musical direction of Joan Rimmer – who also appears here).
